Department of Robotics Engineering
Established in 2018,the Department of Robotics Engineering is charged with delivering the undergraduate Robotics Engineering program and overseeing student academic and professional development.The Department currentlycomprises34 full-timefaculty members.
Rooted in automation and building on the School’s strengths in robotics, the program prepares students to design, develop, and apply intelligent robotic systems. It is designed for students who aim to pursue careers in robotics research, engineering development, system integration, and technology management.
The curriculum combines a strong foundation in automation with specialized training in robotic systems and integrated automation equipment. Students study core topics such as control and computation, real-time information and data processing, computer hardware and software, embedded systems, robotic perception and actuation, and machine intelligence.
Through advanced coursework and hands-on engineering practice, students develop the ability to integrate hardware, software, sensing, control, and intelligent decision-making into complete robotic systems. Graduates are equipped to address real-world engineering challenges in intelligent robotics and related automation fields.
The program was the first undergraduate Robotics Engineering program in China approved by the Ministry of Education.
